We showed incredible pace all week at the fabulous Le Mans Karting International circuit, but poor track position resulted in a suboptimal quali making our week tougher than it should have been.

The heats showed we had the pace to come through, but over-defending from certain drivers created gaps in the order and without tow we lost touch with the front battle each time. Solid finishes however set us up to start the Super Heat from P6 with hopes to finally get stuck into the fight for the win. Unfortunately the knobstacles had other ideas, and we got shuffled wide multiple times on lap 1 dropping to P14. Steady progress saw us climb back up, but only as far as P8.

We lined up for the final from P6. The race was red flagged on lap 4, taking the positions back a lap we restarted from P9. The clock restarted as we rolled out onto a battenburg lap, costing us 2 minutes of racing. My pace in the second half was blistering, and I cleared the pack I was in and set about the chase for the lead 3, closing a 1.8 second gap to Spencer who finished just 2/10ths ahead of me over the line. If only we’d had 13 laps of racing instead of 10… my final two laps were the fastest racing laps of the week, so who knows where the extra laps might have seen me finish.

Regardless, we’ve loved our week, set many purple sectors and laps, and are proud to have set the overall fastest lap of the week. We’re already looking forward to coming back stronger next year, to mount another campaign to become a two-time RMCIT champion!

We send our congratulations to @emerson_macandrew_uren33 on his win, and @rileymurro on his ticket to Bahrain!

Massive thanks to the team for doing a mega job as always. 💙💜
